Getting Ready. Ages and Stages!
Class Options & Age Requirements
We offer two classes with placement based on your child's age as of September 1, 2026.
Morning Mixed-Age Class. Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Open to children who are 2 or 3 years old by September 1, 2026.
Afternoon Prekindergarten Class. Monday through Friday, 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Open to children who turn 4 on or before September 1, 2026.
Considering a bridge year? Children who turn 5 before September 1, 2026 are also welcome to apply for our Afternoon Prekindergarten program may consider a bridge year (another year of prek).
Special Provision for DC Families. DC residents have an extended enrollment window for Afternoon Prekindergarten to follow DCPS. If your family lives in Washington, DC and your child turns 4 before September 30, 2026, they're eligible for our Afternoon Prekindergarten class. This provision aligns with DC Public Schools' kindergarten entry timeline, ensuring your child stays with their grade-level peers.
Please note: The Morning Mixed-Age class requires all children to turn 2 or 3 by September 1. There are no exceptions.

Parents co-op in the classroom and contribute to the life of the school through committee work or board service.
Co-oping is flexible and supported—families can participate weekly, biweekly, and monthly.

Children move easily between our outdoor classrooms and custom-built indoor space, learning to appreciate every kind of weather and the changing seasons. Rooted in play and place, our all-weather program invites curiosity, creativity, and care for the world around them.
