Crafted in 1942 our school’s bylaws outline in twelve articles and seven pages, our mission and education model, our definition of membership, and how that membership will sustain the organization’s business of educating parents and children.

Straight to the Mayhem
We have to go to the edge bitty, the place where the unknown starts and the known ends. We have to step to that very edge and then find our way back. Children will do this and so will grown-ups. Adults will make lists and plan ahead to think their way around or back from the edge.

Rulers of the Game
“He always has to be ruler of the game,” she said of her older brother. “Should he be?” I asked. “No, sometimes I should be the ruler, but he won’t let me.” The older brother disagreed with this observation. He told us that he only rules the game sometimes.

Altruism as a Unifying Force
I heard an interview with the Buddhist monk, scientist, and author Matthieu Ricard in which he talked about altruism as a unifying force.

And Here We Are...
Sligo Creek overflowed its banks last night and then receded almost back into its regular course by morning. The evidence of the rushing water were only curves of silt, mud and a redistribution of debris alongs its banks.
