What Your Teen Babysitter Wants to Know
A post about a recent "coffee&chat" session. Recently we held a preteen and teen babysitting training, "the cooperative way." We learned so much about what these young adults need from parents to create a successful and comforting environment for young children.

So now all we had to do was figure out what it was. We studied it there, keeping an eye out for other clues in the area. Were there more bones, perhaps fur or feathers? One of the children voiced the question the discoverer wouldn't give voice to, "How did it die?"
What is Dramatic Play?
We take a sharp departure from community helper, teacher-shaped delivery and packaged dramatic play -- that is not the scaffolding we are looking for -- and this departure takes us down a path that is not always a sunny, little place of a brick-solid house with garden. Mostly, our dramatic play is built of sticks and how fabulous is it when it holds? And falls?!?

Every afternoon for the last two weeks, the wall goes up in the Teahouse. Every morning the wall gets knocked down. "Hello? Anybody home?" Play is calling.
