For children, decision-making is sometimes really overwhelming. Often what we think are small or easily made decisions are too much for little ones. How wonderful is it for children to find themselves in a community of other children, who get that and will help each other out when they need it?
Dig Here, a Play Message In Action
The dig pit itself IS the sign that is read by the other children. They read this play message just like we read the newspaper. A-ha, this is "it" and "everyone" knows...the work must be continued. The children are connected to each other through play.

Oh, you pretty things. Welcome to your new home, little ones. Stand up, Never give up. Love and be loved.
The Power of Storytelling
While we have many reasons for spending so much time on story -- we know the research. We know that story is essential to brain development, language acquisition, literacy, resiliency, and empathy -- sure we do! But here, gathered around a campfire, we hear and watch our work take flight as the children become the story tellers.
